President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will today commence a three-state visit to Borno, Bauchi and Lagos states, combining official engagements, social functions and condolence visits, before proceeding to Lagos to spend the end-of-year holidays.

The President’s itinerary was disclosed in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, outlining a mix of governance-related activities and ceremonial appearances across the three states.

According to the statement, President Tinubu will begin the visit in Borno State, where he is scheduled to commission several projects executed by the administration of Governor Babagana Zulum in collaboration with the Federal Government.

While in Maiduguri, the President is also expected to attend the wedding ceremony of Sadeeq Sheriff, son of former Borno State Governor and Senator, Ali Modu Sheriff, and his bride, Hadiza Kam Salem.

From Borno, President Tinubu will proceed to Bauchi State to pay a condolence visit to the state government and the family of the late Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, the revered Islamic scholar and leader of the Tijjaniyya Muslim Brotherhood, who passed away on November 27.

“The President will also use the opportunity to commiserate with the people of Bauchi State over the passing of Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, whose contributions to Islamic scholarship and national unity remain widely acknowledged,” the statement said.
“He is expected to conclude the three-state visit in Lagos, where he will participate in a number of engagements and subsequently spend the end-of-year holiday,” the statement added.

It further disclosed that President Tinubu will serve as the guest of honour at the annual Eyo Festival scheduled for December 27 at the Tafawa Balewa Square, where notable personalities, including his mother, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, as well as former Lagos State governors, Alhaji Lateef Jakande and Chief Michael Otedola, will be honoured.
