President Bola Tinubu has approved adjustments to the posting of Nigeria’s ambassadors-designate, confirming the deployment of three diplomats out of the 68 nominees earlier cleared by the Senate.

The clarification followed an earlier statement indicating that four ambassadors had been approved for posting. In an updated announcement issued by the President’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, only three postings were officially confirmed.
According to the statement, Ambassador Ayodele Oke has been designated as Nigeria’s Ambassador to France, while Colonel Lateef Are has been appointed Ambassador to the United States of America.
President Tinubu also approved the posting of Ambassador Aminu Dalhatu, former Nigerian Ambassador to South Korea, as the High Commissioner-designate to the United Kingdom.

In a memo addressed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the President directed that the governments of the three host countries be formally notified in line with established diplomatic procedures, marking the next step toward the ambassadors’ assumption of duty.
