Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde on Monday announced a significant cabinet reshuffle, bringing in new leadership to several key positions in the state government.
Prof. Olanike Adeyemo has been relieved of her duties as Secretary to the State Government, with Prof. Musibau Babatunde stepping in as her replacement. The move aims to strengthen governance and enhance policy implementation across the state.
In another change, Barrister Temilolu Ashamu has been reassigned from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources to the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, reflecting a strategic repositioning of talent within the cabinet.
Ademola Aderinto, previously Senior Special Assistant on Public Works, has been nominated as a commissioner and will soon appear before the state House of Assembly for confirmation.
The governor also appointed Abiodun Adedoja as Special Adviser on Energy Security, while Kolawole Elijah Akanmu will serve as Senior Special Assistant on Budget and Economic Planning.
Observers note that these appointments could bring fresh perspectives to budgetary planning, public works, and energy management in the state.
The governor urged the new appointees to hit the ground running and deliver measurable results that will impact residents positively.
These developments signal a renewed focus on efficiency and competence within Oyo State’s executive team as the administration moves into the new year.
