The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Diaspora has called on young Nigerians worldwide to embrace unity, hope, and resilience as the global community celebrates Easter. The message emphasizes the need for collective effort in driving progress for both the diaspora community and the nation.

NYCN Diaspora President, Amb. Collins Osazee Idahosa, in a statement released on Easter Sunday, highlighted the significance of the season as a period of renewal, reflection, and triumph over challenges. He encouraged Nigerian youths abroad to use this time to foster personal growth and community solidarity.

“Easter reminds us that no matter the obstacles we face, there is always an opportunity for renewal and positive change,” Amb. Idahosa stated. He urged the diaspora community to remain law-abiding, resilient, and committed to excellence, reinforcing the values that define Nigerians globally.

The NYCN Diaspora leader emphasized the importance of bridging divides within the community. He called on young Nigerians abroad to work together for the advancement of their homeland, stressing that unity is critical to the socio-economic development of Nigeria.

Alongside the Easter message, Amb. Idahosa announced that the NYCN Diaspora will host the 62nd Anniversary Symposium of the National Youth Council of Nigeria. The event is themed “One Vision, One Future: Youth Driving National Progress” and is scheduled to hold in London on Saturday, August 22, 2026.

The symposium will feature a gala award ceremony to honor Nigerian youths who have made outstanding contributions both at home and abroad. The program aims to foster high-level dialogue on how the diaspora can play a strategic role in national development and growth.

“This symposium is more than a celebration; it is a strategic platform to align our vision for a prosperous Nigeria,” Amb. Idahosa added. The event is expected to bring together influential youth leaders, policymakers, and professionals from various sectors to chart a course for Nigeria’s future.

As the Easter season unfolds, the NYCN Diaspora reiterates its commitment to inspiring young Nigerians abroad to remain connected to their roots, promote unity, and contribute positively to national progress. The upcoming symposium marks a key milestone in this ongoing effort.
