NYCN Appoints Aliyu Musa as Director of Media, Diaspora

The Governor of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Diaspora, Ambassador Collins Osazee Idahosa, has approved the appointment of Hon. Abdulhayyi Aliyu Musa as the Director of Media for the NYCN Diaspora, with a mandate to drive the Council’s media and communication strategy for Nigerian youths living abroad.

The appointment was announced in a statement personally signed by Ambassador Idahosa, in which he said the decision takes immediate effect and reflects the Council’s confidence in Musa’s capacity to strengthen media engagement, representation and advocacy for Nigerian youths across the diaspora.

According to the statement, the new Director of Media will be responsible for managing the public image of the NYCN Diaspora, coordinating communications with relevant local and international agencies, and ensuring that the Council’s goals of youth empowerment and global visibility are effectively projected.

Ambassador Idahosa expressed optimism that Musa’s professional background and leadership qualities would enhance the Council’s outreach and impact, particularly in amplifying the voices and interests of Nigerian youths on global platforms.

Hon. Abdulhayyi Aliyu Musa is a Nigerian of Ebira heritage from Kogi State and has been based in Türkiye for the past 17 years, where he has built a strong academic and professional career in the media industry after completing his secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate studies.

“We are confident that your wealth of experience, professionalism and leadership qualities will contribute significantly to the success of our mission, as we look forward to your dedicated service in repositioning the Nigerian youth positively on the global stage,” Ambassador Idahosa said.
“This appointment comes with enormous responsibilities, particularly in managing our public image and ensuring that our objectives on youth development, empowerment and international engagement are clearly and effectively communicated,” he added.

Musa holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Journalism, Television and Cinema, is fluent in five languages, and currently works as a multimedia journalist and producer with Türkiye’s leading international media organisation, while also engaging in cross-border business and community leadership initiatives that promote positive Nigerian representation globally.
