The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has called for the adoption of clear, technology-driven systems in the management of election results to enhance transparency and credibility in Nigeria’s electoral process

The Union said prompt electronic transmission of polling unit results would reduce suspicion, limit post-election disputes, and strengthen public confidence in democratic institutions.

According to the NUJ, technology-based reforms would ensure consistency and clarity in election management, reinforcing democratic culture and institutional trust.

With preparations for the 2027 general elections already underway, the Union urged lawmakers to prioritise reforms that guarantee credible and peaceful polls.

It also called for enforceable guidelines mandating real-time transmission of results, describing such measures as essential to safeguarding democracy.

This is such an important topic for 2027. Honestly, the technology exists to fix our electoral system, we just need the political will.  Since we're talking about digital platforms, I’ve actually had a great personal experience with lately. I usually just play their online games when I’m bored on weekends.
