Addressing Arab ministers, heads of delegations, and representatives of international and regional organisations, the minister conveyed the goodwill of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and expressed Nigeria’s appreciation to the Government and people of Jordan for hosting what she described as a timely and purposeful dialogue on shared social development priorities.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by her Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Jonathan Eze, Sulaiman-Ibrahim described the conference as a reaffirmation that social development is a fundamental human right and a critical pillar for peace, stability, and sustainable prosperity across nations.

She told the gathering that Nigeria aligns fully with the vision of the Doha Political Declaration 2025 and the outcomes of the Second World Summit for Social Development, noting that the country’s policies are anchored on Nigeria Agenda 2050 and the Renewed Hope Agenda of the current administration.

The minister highlighted key reforms and programmes, including the institutionalisation of National Social Investment Programmes, the use of a strengthened National Social Register, youth empowerment initiatives, women-focused interventions, and the deployment of technology through Nigeria’s enhanced National Digital Identity Portal to improve service delivery and social protection.

“Our policies deliberately place people at the centre of governance, with a strong focus on poverty reduction, human capital development, and inclusive growth for women, children, families, and vulnerable populations. We believe social protection must be comprehensive, data-driven, and responsive to real human needs,” she said.
“Nigeria is open to deepening collaboration with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the League of Arab States, and global partners in exchanging best practices on digital inclusion, women’s empowerment, youth development, and efficient social service delivery, especially in the face of shared challenges such as climate change and economic volatility,” she added.

Concluding her address, Sulaiman-Ibrahim reaffirmed Nigeria’s full commitment to the objectives of the Doha Declaration 2025, stressing that success should be measured not by policy documents alone but by tangible impact lives improved, women empowered, children protected, and communities uplifted through sustained regional and international cooperation.
