The Nigerians in Diaspora Organization (NIDO) Africa has announced plans to stage a major trade fair in Dakar, Senegal, later this month, aimed at promoting Nigerian products and strengthening cross-border business ties within Africa.

The five-day event, scheduled for February 23 to 27, 2026, will be coordinated by NIDO Africa under the leadership of its Continental Chairman, Professor Jude Osakwe. It is expected to attract traders, investors, manufacturers, and business executives from different parts of the continent.

Professor Osakwe explained that the trade fair is designed to serve as a strategic platform for showcasing Nigeria’s entrepreneurial capacity and expanding market access for locally made goods beyond the country’s borders.

According to him, the exhibition will feature a wide range of Made-in-Nigeria products, including agricultural produce, fashion and lifestyle items, healthcare innovations, cosmetics, and other high-quality consumer and industrial goods.

He noted that the initiative is particularly important for Nigerians in the diaspora, as well as businesses operating within Nigeria, offering them direct opportunities to connect with potential partners, distributors, and investors across Africa.

The event is also expected to facilitate investment discussions and regional collaborations, with companies such as Hand of God Construction Company scheduled to present solutions in areas like affordable housing and sustainable building models.

Professor Osakwe added that the Dakar trade fair aligns with NIDO Africa’s broader objective of deepening economic integration, promoting Nigerian brands on the continental stage, and encouraging intra-African trade. He urged business owners, investors, and members of the public to participate in what he described as a significant step toward stronger economic cooperation within Africa.
