The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has announced a partnership with the Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms Committee to host a virtual dialogue aimed at enlightening Nigerians in the diaspora on the impact of Nigeria’s new tax reform laws.
The interactive session, scheduled for Friday, October 10, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. (Nigeria Time), is themed “Impact of the New Tax Reform Laws on Nigerians in the Diaspora.”
According to NiDCOM Chairman/CEO, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the event underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to transparency and inclusivity in policy communication. She emphasized that Nigerians abroad remain vital contributors to the nation’s economy and deserve to be fully informed about the evolving fiscal landscape.
Chairman of the Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms Committee, Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, confirmed the session on his verified social media handles, noting that it will provide clarifications on compliance, obligations, and practical implications of the newly enacted tax laws.
Experts from the committee and key government agencies are expected to participate, offering detailed insights and responding to questions from diaspora participants. Interested individuals are encouraged to register ahead of the session through the official registration link or QR code provided by NiDCOM.
The initiative comes as part of ongoing government efforts to ensure diaspora inclusion in national policy discussions, particularly on reforms affecting personal and corporate taxation.
