The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has commended the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his efforts in easing passport processing for Nigerian students in the diaspora.

The commendation was made on Thursday by the President of the Senate, NANS Headquarters, Distinguished Sen. Usman Adamu Nagwaza, who said the initiative has brought significant relief to Nigerian students abroad who had long faced challenges in obtaining passports.
Nagwaza noted that the improved process has helped to reduce delays and uncertainty for students grappling with travel documentation amid academic and professional demands in their host countries.
He added that the intervention came at a critical time when many Nigerian students in the diaspora are contending with travel restrictions, visa denials and other logistical hurdles, stressing that the development has restored confidence and hope.

Nagwaza further called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to strengthen institutional support for the Minister of Interior to enable him sustain and expand the reforms across the country’s immigration system.
“We commend the Minister for his dedication and commitment to serving Nigerian students, who are the future leaders of this country. His efforts will go a long way in promoting the welfare and interests of Nigerian students globally,” Nagwaza said.
“With the support of Mr President, the Minister can achieve even more. This will not only improve service delivery but also inspire other public office holders to perform their duties with diligence and patriotism,” he added.
NANS also urged Nigerian students in the diaspora to take full advantage of the improved passport processing system to pursue their academic and professional goals without unnecessary hindrance, while reaffirming its readiness to work with the government in advancing the welfare of Nigerian students worldwide.
