The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) and the Government of Japan, has extended its cholera prevention advocacy to Badagry West LCDA.

The sensitisation exercise forms part of Project 240236, titled Emergency Capacity Building of Informal Food and Water Vendors and Waste Workers in Flood-Affected Lagos to Combat Cholera Outbreaks.
Held at the Customs Quarters, Seme Border, the programme targeted food vendors, water sellers, waste handlers, students, artisans, and community leaders, with emphasis on hygiene, safe food handling, potable water access, and proper waste management.
Speaking at the event, the General Manager of LASEPA, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, said the agency remains committed to identifying contamination sources, strengthening public awareness, and enforcing sanitation regulations across the State.

Community leaders and government representatives at the event commended the initiative and called for improved access to pipe-borne water and sustained grassroots engagement to reduce cholera risks in flood-prone communities.
