Lagos Creates Over 15,000 Jobs Through Agripreneurship Programme

The Lagos State Government has generated over 15,000 jobs through the Lagos Agripreneurship Programme (LAP), an intervention aimed at equipping youths aged 18 to 30 with modern agricultural skills.

The achievement was highlighted during the closing ceremony of the 26th cohort of the programme at the Agricultural Training Institute, Araga, Epe.
Speaking at the event, the Director of the Institute, Ms. Folake Ogunlana-Lawal, described LAP as a cornerstone of youth empowerment and food security under the State’s THEMES+ agenda.
She explained that the programme combines intensive training, internships, mentorship, and enterprise activation to build a resilient agricultural workforce.

Beneficiaries at the ceremony expressed appreciation to the State Government, pledging to establish agribusiness ventures and contribute to food production and employment generation.
