Kwara Governor Convenes Emergency Security Meeting After Kaiama Attack

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has convened an emergency security council meeting following a deadly terrorist attack in Kaiama Local Government Area that reportedly claimed about 175 lives. The incident has heightened security concerns across the North-Central state.

The meeting, held on Monday night at the Ahmadu Bello House in Ilorin, brought together heads of security agencies operating in the state. It formed part of the government’s immediate response to assess the situation and coordinate security efforts.
Speaking after the meeting, AbdulRazaq said he received detailed briefings from security commanders on the circumstances surrounding the attack and ongoing operations. He said the discussions focused on strategies to neutralise threats and prevent further attacks.
The governor emphasised the need for a coordinated, multi-layered security response to protect lives and property. He assured residents that the state government was working closely with security agencies to restore peace in affected communities.

AbdulRazaq expressed optimism that the resolutions reached would strengthen security operations and restore calm across the state. He urged residents to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and credible information.
