President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu were formally welcomed by King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle on Wednesday, marking a key moment in Nigeria’s ongoing state visit to the United Kingdom.

The Nigerian leader arrived to full ceremonial honours, including a 42-gun salute by the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, as both British and Nigerian flags lined the streets of Windsor.

During the reception, the President and his wife were introduced to senior members of the Royal Family, including Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, underscoring the significance of the diplomatic engagement.

The visit, hosted at Windsor Castle, is expected to strengthen bilateral relations between Nigeria and the UK, with discussions focused on new partnerships and formal agreements across key sectors.

A state banquet is scheduled to hold later in the day at St George’s Hall, where members of the Royal Family and the Nigerian delegation are expected to convene.

Officials say the two-day visit will prioritise economic cooperation, investment opportunities, and expanded collaboration between both countries.
