Kemi Badenoch, the leader of the British Conservative Party, has promised to hire 10,000 more police officers if she becomes Prime Minister. She says this is necessary to fight the rising crime rates in the United Kingdom.

Badenoch pointed out that most serious crimes happen in just a few specific neighborhoods. For example, in London, only 4% of areas are responsible for over 25% of knife crimes. She wants the new officers to focus specifically on these "hotspot" areas.
Besides hiring more people, she plans to use more technology to catch criminals. She mentioned that "live facial recognition" has already helped the police make over 1,000 arrests in the past year. She believes this technology is the future of safety.
She also noted that using this technology helped reduce robberies by 70% during the Notting Hill Carnival. Under her government, she wants every police force to use facial recognition regularly in high-crime zones.

Badenoch’s message is clear: crime is not happening everywhere equally, so the police should be where the trouble is. By combining more boots on the ground with better tech, she hopes to make British streets much safer.
