
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Dr. Kayode Opeifa, a distinguished Nigerian transport expert and a member of the diaspora community, as the new Managing Director of the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC).
Dr. Opeifa has built a stellar reputation for his contributions to transportation systems both in Nigeria and internationally. His appointment has been celebrated as a testament to his remarkable expertise and dedication to the sector.
A former Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Opeifa earned acclaim for introducing transformative policies that revolutionized Lagos' transportation network. His tenure saw innovative solutions to traffic management, earning Lagos a reputation as a leader in urban transportation in Africa.

Dr. Opeifa, who later served as Transport Secretary for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) under former President Muhammadu Buhari, has also worked on global transport projects, further solidifying his position as a diaspora expert with a deep understanding of modern transportation systems.
His new role at the NRC is expected to bring much-needed reforms to Nigeria's rail infrastructure.
