Ibadan to Witness Rapid Economic Transformation – Olubadan

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has assured residents that Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, is set to experience quick and positive economic transformation in the coming months.

The monarch gave the assurance while hosting members of the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Association of Oyo State during a courtesy visit to the Oke Aremo Palace.

Oba Ladoja explained that it is more beneficial for citizens to embrace manufacturing rather than focus solely on distribution, as this would maximise profits and create more employment opportunities for people across Ibadanland.

He noted that persistent challenges facing local industries such as poor electricity supply, inadequate water systems and bad road networks necessitated the establishment of an Economic and Investment Committee by the Olubadan-in-Council to address the issues.

Earlier, the originator of the FMCG Oyo State branch, Mrs. Apeke Adeogun, congratulated the Olubadan on his ascension to the throne and prayed for divine health, prosperity and long life for the monarch, assuring him of the association’s commitment to the economic development of Ibadan..

“We are fully committed to contributing our quota to the growth and economic progress of Ibadanland, and we believe that working with the palace will yield positive and lasting outcomes,” Adeogun said.

“Our association stands ready to support initiatives that will uplift businesses in the state, promote innovation and strengthen the industrial landscape for the benefit of all,” she added.
