The historic achievement took place in Abuja between November 21 and 23, 2025, where Yakubu delivered a continuous 60-hour programming lesson, officially surpassing the previous global record of 48 hours and 15 minutes.

The marathon session was conducted under strict verification procedures, with independent observers present throughout the exercise to ensure full compliance with Guinness World Records standards. The programme featured structured, hands-on instruction and attracted dozens of participants, while additional viewers followed the session through live online streams.

With over a decade of professional experience in cloud engineering, Yakubu focused the lessons on leading cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. The training was designed to equip participants with practical, industry-relevant skills and expose them to real-world applications of cloud technology

Yakubu described the record-breaking feat as a testament to careful planning, teamwork, and resilience. He disclosed that he underwent weeks of physical and mental preparation ahead of the challenge, noting that the overnight hours were the most physically demanding aspect of the exercise.

According to him, the initiative was driven by a strong desire to inspire young Nigerians to embrace technology and develop in-demand digital skills, especially as artificial intelligence and cloud services continue to transform the global economy. He added that the lesson also aimed to demonstrate the power of collaboration and disciplined learning.

Yakubu revealed that he has trained more than 200 young people over the past year and encouraged parents and guardians to support children interested in technology-related careers. He stressed that early exposure to digital skills remains critical for future employability.

The Guinness World Records confirmation has drawn attention to Nigeria’s growing technology ecosystem, highlighting the country’s potential to produce globally competitive talent and contribute meaningfully to innovation in the digital age.
