Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has called on residents of the state to remain calm and trust in God as his administration continues efforts to maintain peace and stability. The governor made the appeal during a special inter-denominational church service held in Port Harcourt to commemorate the 2026 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day.

Speaking at the service, Fubara said his calmness in the face of political challenges is rooted in his strong faith in God, whom he described as the highest authority. He noted that leadership guided by faith and responsibility does not require panic or fear, even in difficult times.

The governor reassured residents that his administration remains focused on governance, peace, and development, urging them not to allow political tension to disrupt social harmony in the state. He emphasised that peace is essential for economic growth and collective progress.

Deputy Governor Prof. Ngozi Odu also addressed the congregation, urging residents to continue praying for the state and its leaders. She said prayers have sustained the administration so far and would continue to provide guidance and strength.

The church service featured prayers for fallen heroes, members of the Armed Forces, their families, and national leaders, with religious leaders calling on citizens to uphold peace, unity, and service to humanity.
