FBI Declares Nigerian Fraud Convict Emuobosan Hall Wanted for Failing to Begin Prison Sentence

U.S. law enforcement authorities have launched a manhunt for Nigerian national Emuobosan Emanuella Hall after she failed to surrender for the commencement of her prison term following a fraud conviction.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) confirmed that Hall, 45, is now officially wanted after she did not report to a designated correctional facility as ordered by the court. She had earlier pleaded guilty to her involvement in a romance fraud scheme that primarily targeted older women.
Court records show that Hall was sentenced in January 2026 to eight years imprisonment by a federal judge in Louisiana. Despite the conviction, she was allowed to remain free on bond with instructions to report to prison by March 25, 2026. Authorities say she never complied with that directive.
An arrest warrant was subsequently issued in mid-April after a magistrate judge approved a criminal complaint against her for failing to appear. Investigators believe she deliberately evaded authorities shortly before her reporting date.
Tracking data from her electronic monitoring device indicated her last known location as Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on March 24. However, officials say she did not board her scheduled flight to Minnesota, where she was expected to serve her sentence.
Further investigation revealed that her phone activity suggested possible travel to the Washington, D.C. area, raising concerns that she may be attempting to flee or conceal her whereabouts.
Hall was initially charged in 2024 alongside an accomplice in a wide-reaching fraud and money laundering conspiracy. Prosecutors said the scheme led to significant financial losses for victims, many of whom were deceived through online relationships.
While Hall admitted responsibility for over $850,000 in victim losses, her co-defendant, Kenneth Akpieyi, was convicted separately and is currently serving a 25-year prison sentence after being found responsible for over $3.5 million in damages.
Authorities warn that if Hall is apprehended and convicted for failing to report, she could face additional prison time, financial penalties, and extended supervision after release. The FBI has urged the public to provide any information that could assist in locating her.
