The EFCC has disclosed that it arrested hundreds of suspected internet fraudsters, popularly known as Yahoo boys, within the last two months through discreet sting operations.

EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede made this known during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, where he spoke on recent reforms within the commission.
According to him, many of the suspects operate in hiding and avoid public places, making covert and intelligence-driven operations necessary to apprehend them.
He explained that most arrests were carried out in hotels and apartments rather than private homes, as suspects often move around to avoid detection by law enforcement agencies.

Olukoyede said the EFCC remains committed to professionalism and strategic enforcement, stressing that the agency’s approach is focused on effectiveness while maintaining respect for the rule of law.
