A collective of Nigerian professionals living abroad has publicly endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio, expressing confidence in their leadership and calling for continuity of the current administration’s agenda beyond 2027.

The group, led by its coordinator Princess Diana Akinmoyo, released a statement outlining what it described as clear evidence of progress under the Tinubu presidency. According to the members, the last two years have shown a shift toward economic stabilisation, fiscal discipline, and improved global recognition for Nigeria.

Akinmoyo argued that President Tinubu’s policy choices, particularly the removal of fuel subsidy and the implementation of the Tax Reform Act, have expanded government revenues and restored investor interest. She claimed that Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product has grown significantly since 2023 and credited the administration for what she termed “bold and necessary adjustments” that previous governments avoided.

The group also pointed to the recent upgrade of Nigeria’s economic outlook by S&P Global Ratings from “stable” to “positive,” saying it validated the government’s direction. They further referenced reports from international institutions which, they insisted, acknowledged Nigeria’s attempts to reverse years of economic decline.

Akinmoyo maintained that the current inflation level, which she said had dropped to a three-year low, demonstrated the early success of the government’s monetary and fiscal alignment. She added that the Nigerian passport’s movement up the Henley Passport Index, from 97th place in 2022 to 88th in 2025, was proof that the country’s global perception had improved.

The diaspora coalition also praised the working relationship between the executive and the National Assembly, describing it as one of the most coordinated in recent years. They argued that the cooperation between Tinubu and Akpabio has enabled faster passage of reform bills and reduced political confrontation that had slowed previous administrations.

On Senate President Akpabio, the group emphasised his long political trajectory, citing roles such as commissioner, two-term governor of Akwa Ibom State, minister, minority leader in the Senate, and now head of the upper chamber. According to Akinmoyo, Akpabio’s career reflects “institutional knowledge and administrative depth,” making him a crucial partner in delivering the government’s policy objectives.

She also highlighted the construction of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium during his governorship as an example of his inclination toward landmark infrastructure. The group argued that he has brought the same energy into national legislative leadership, ensuring minimal friction with the presidency and maintaining what they called a “results-driven assembly.”

The statement concluded with a call to Nigerians at home and abroad to support the continuation of the Renewed Hope Agenda, insisting that sustained leadership would help strengthen reforms, accelerate economic recovery, and steer the country toward long-term national stability and prosperity.
