Komolafe was recently conferred with a Professional Doctorate in Leadership (Energy Law) by the International Business School of Scandinavia and the Global Sustainable Leadership Award at the 2025 Global Sustainable Education and Leadership (G-SEL) Conference held at the House of Lords, UK Parliament.

In a statement signed by NiDA London President, Sani Abubakar, and Secretary, Mrs. Chioma Okorafor, the group commended Komolafe for his outstanding contribution to Nigeria’s energy reform and for enhancing the country’s global reputation.

“These awards highlight the excellence and integrity Nigerians bring to international governance,” the statement read. “Engr. Komolafe’s dedication to transparent leadership and innovative policy implementation has made him a model of effective public service.”

The group noted that under Komolafe’s leadership, the NUPRC has achieved significant milestones including the full implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), increased indigenous participation, and measurable economic impact in the upstream sector. Active rig counts reportedly surged from 8 in 2021 to 69 by October 2025, marking a growth rate of over 760 percent.

NiDA further cited the success of the Host Community Development Trust, which has channelled more than ₦350 billion into peacebuilding, infrastructure, and social development projects across oil-producing regions.

“These accomplishments show that disciplined, results-driven leadership not only fuels economic growth but also strengthens community relations and stability,” the statement added.

The group urged the federal government to continue empowering visionary leaders like Komolafe while encouraging Nigerians in the diaspora to celebrate excellence that uplifts the nation’s image abroad.
