Athens is gearing up to host young Greeks from around the world as the city prepares for the second Greek Youth Diaspora Symposium, a four-day international gathering aimed at strengthening global Hellenic ties and elevating youth leadership.
The event, titled “Diaspora Dialogues: Connecting Young Voices Around the World,” will run from 25–28 November at the Hellenic Cosmos Cultural Centre. It is organised by the General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis will open the symposium, which brings together participants aged 18 to 25 to exchange ideas on cultural identity, innovation, technology, sustainability and the future of global Hellenism.
Panels will be led by academics, business leaders and public officials, guiding discussions meant to shape new perspectives and cross-border collaboration.
Delegates from the inaugural edition recognised as Greek Youth Diaspora Ambassadors 2024, will return to present ongoing projects, while a new group will be inaugurated as 2025 Ambassadors, tasked with advancing diaspora-focused initiatives over the next year.
Organisers describe the gathering as a growing annual institution and a year-round channel of dialogue, fostering cooperation between Greek youth abroad and their peers in Greece as they confront global challenges and explore new opportunities for cultural and social impact.
