The France chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has welcomed the decision of Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, to join the ruling party, describing the move as a significant political shift that strengthens support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Governor Lawal recently left the Peoples Democratic Party and aligned with the All Progressives Congress after a meeting with political stakeholders in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital.

Reacting to the development, the chairperson of APC France, Amina Suzuki, said the governor’s decision reflects increasing confidence among political leaders and citizens in the policies and reform agenda of President Tinubu’s administration.

She noted that the development signals growing political support for the ruling party in Nigeria’s North-West region, which she described as one of the country’s most influential voting blocs.

According to Suzuki, Lawal’s move represents more than a personal political decision, adding that it also demonstrates broader backing for the government’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.

She further stated that members of the APC in the diaspora see the realignment as evidence that the North-West is gradually consolidating support around the president’s leadership.

The APC France chapter also pledged to continue mobilising support for the administration internationally while encouraging Nigerians at home and abroad to support government efforts aimed at strengthening security, promoting economic reforms, and fostering national unity.
