Abike Dabiri-Erewa To Speak At Ekiti Diaspora Virtual Town-Hal


The administration of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji continues to demonstrate its commitment to fostering connections with Ekiti indigenes abroad through the innovative and versatile Ekiti Diaspora Relations Directorate.

Today, June 23, 2024, the Directorate will host another exhilarating and vibrant Town-Hall Discourse.


Among the distinguished guests will be Hon. Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM). The state's Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. Ebenezer Boluwade, will also be in attendance.


At the previous edition on May 19, 2024, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa highlighted the successes of Ekiti indigenes in the diaspora and emphasized the need for collective celebrations and collaborations. She praised the efforts of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji's administration and Mrs. Adeleye-Fasubaa, the Director-General of Ekiti Diaspora Relations.


The event featured insightful lectures from the Honorable Commissioner of Youth Development, Hon. Gold Adedayo, and Brigadier General (Rtd) Ebenezer Ogundana, Special Adviser on Security Matters. The discussions focused on:

- Youth engagement and its potential to address socioeconomic and security challenges in the state.

- The importance of technology in redefining youth engagement and creating profitable opportunities.

- Security innovations.


Overall, the event was a positive and forward-thinking gathering, highlighting the successes and potential of Ekiti indigenes in the diaspora. It also explored ways to harness their talents and expertise for the benefit of the state. Potential outcomes of the event include the establishment of the Ekiti Youth Trust Fund and the Ekiti Security Trust Fund.
