The United States has urged its citizens living in Saudi Arabia to review their safety plans and consider leaving the country as tensions in the Middle East intensify amid concerns over potential drone and missile attacks.
In a security advisory issued by the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, officials said they are closely monitoring the evolving situation and encouraged Americans to assess their personal safety and available travel options.
The embassy noted that Saudi airspace remains open despite periodic restrictions linked to ongoing security threats. Major airports in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam are still functioning, although travelers were advised to confirm flight schedules with airlines due to possible delays or cancellations.
U.S. authorities said assistance and information are available for citizens who decide to depart the region through commercial flights.
For those choosing to remain in Saudi Arabia, the embassy recommended precautionary measures, including preparing emergency supplies such as food, water, medications, and other essentials. Americans were also encouraged to stay alert, follow guidance from local authorities, and be ready to remain indoors if security conditions deteriorate.
Officials further urged citizens to regularly check embassy communications for updates as developments in the region continue.
The advisory comes amid growing instability across parts of the Middle East. In a related development, international motorsport authorities recently cancelled the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Formula One races scheduled for April, citing safety concerns tied to the worsening regional security environment.
