Sanwo-Olu, Top Nigerian Leaders to Be Honoured at Prestigious UK Triangle Leadership Awards

Lagos State Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu will be among the leading African figures to receive the Triangle Face of Africa Leadership Award in London, an event that celebrates distinguished contributions to leadership, integrity, and community development across the African continent.
The award ceremony, organised by Triangle News International, is set to take place on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 12:00 PM in the RHB 300 Hall of Goldsmiths, University of London, United Kingdom. The annual event brings together a broad spectrum of African leaders from politics, business, civil society, and the diaspora to highlight the richness of African heritage and the transformative impact of credible leadership.
According to Otunba Olufemi Salako, Chief Executive Officer of Triangle News International, the event is more than just an awards ceremony—it is a platform for honouring individuals who have consistently demonstrated visionary leadership and a commitment to societal advancement.

This initiative is aimed at spotlighting individuals whose work uplifts communities, strengthens governance, and keeps the spirit of African excellence alive on a global scale,” Salako stated.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who has gained both national and international attention for his administration’s urban reforms, infrastructure strides, and digital innovation in governance, is among the most prominent names on this year’s honours list.
Also listed for recognition are:
Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN) – Renowned legal luminary and former President of the Nigerian Bar Association.
Hon. (Dr.) Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo – Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, known for driving public sector reforms.
Seyi Tinubu – Business executive and youth advocate.
Governor Mohammed Umar Bago – Executive Governor of Niger State.
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa – Executive Governor of Ondo State.
Hon. Ayodele Olawande Wisdom – Nigeria’s Minister of Youth.
Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa – Chairman/CEO of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), known for her advocacy for Nigerians abroad.
Senator Orji Uzor Kalu – Representing Abia North Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate.
Senator Eteng Jonah Williams – Representing Cross River Central Senatorial District.
Mr. Femi Soneye – Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC).
These individuals have been selected based on their visible impact, professional excellence, and contributions to the growth and image of Africa, both at home and in the diaspora.
