Sanwo-Olu Receives MIPAD Chairman at Lagos House, Bags 2025 Influential Governor Award

The Founder and Chairman of the Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD) paid a courtesy visit to Lagos House, Marina, where he was received by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The visit was marked by the presentation of the 2025 Most Influential Governor of the Year award to Sanwo-Olu, an honour MIPAD said reflects his leadership style and the growing global relevance of Lagos State.

According to the organisation, the award recognises progress recorded under the Sanwo-Olu administration, particularly in the areas of culture, tourism and economic development, which have continued to attract local and international attention.

Sanwo-Olu described the visit as significant, noting that engagement with global African institutions such as MIPAD reinforces Lagos’ position as a leading sub-national economy in Africa.

He thanked MIPAD for the recognition and reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to address existing challenges while deepening collaboration with residents and partners to drive inclusive growth across the state.
