A remarkable act of integrity by a Nigerian-American woman has captured the hearts of many in the diaspora. Victoria Ogunremi, residing in New Jersey, USA, returned $5,700 she discovered in a restroom at her workplace.
In a phone interview, Ms. Ogunremi emphasized that her Christian faith and moral upbringing guided her decision. "Honesty brings peace of mind, and it is the key virtue I cherish," she stated. Her action earned her widespread admiration from her employer, colleagues, and the owner of the misplaced money.
Ms. Ogunremi also credited her late father’s teachings for instilling the values of honesty and integrity. "He taught us never to take what does not belong to us. I hope to pass these values down to my children and grandchildren," she added.

This gesture has been hailed as an outstanding example of honesty among Nigerians living abroad, further reflecting the positive contributions of the diaspora community.
