According to Times of India, the suspects identified as Precious, Gift, and Joy were apprehended near Bakhtawar Chowk after the earlier arrest of an Indian national, Adarsh Sahu, who was found with 26 grams of MDMA. Sahu’s interrogation reportedly led investigators to the women, who were said to be at the centre of a transnational drug supply chain.

Following the arrest, police conducted a raid at the women’s rented apartment in Khanpur Extension, Delhi, where additional substances including 22 grams of white MDMA, three grams of brown MDMA, and nine grams of cocaine were seized alongside packaging materials, an electronic scale, and mobile phones.

Authorities revealed that the suspects had been under surveillance after intelligence indicated their involvement in the distribution of narcotics across Delhi’s Khanpur area. Police say the investigation has uncovered a wider network of foreign nationals linked to the illegal drug trade in India.

The three Nigerian women have been remanded in police custody for further questioning as investigations continue to trace other members of the syndicate.

This arrest adds to the growing list of foreigners, including Nigerians, apprehended across Asia in recent months over alleged involvement in drug-related crimes.
