Athens is set to host the 3rd Greek Youth Diaspora Symposium from 18 to 25 June 2026, bringing together young Greeks from across the globe to discuss culture, identity, and leadership. The initiative is part of a broader effort to engage diaspora youth in shaping the future of global Hellenism.

The symposium is organised by the General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy. It aims to foster connections among young Greeks, creating a platform for exchanging ideas, networking, and learning from one another’s experiences.

Under the theme “Building the Future of Global Hellenism,” participants will take on active roles as speakers, contributors, and cultural ambassadors. They will also have the opportunity to join a growing network of diaspora youth engaged in civic and cultural projects.

Key topics to be explored include Greek identity in a global context, language and education, innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as culture, creativity, and social cohesion. A strong focus will be placed on youth leadership and active participation.

The program is fully funded for selected participants, covering return airfare to Greece, accommodation, local transport, and organised activities. This ensures that financial constraints do not limit participation for qualified candidates.

Eligibility is restricted to individuals aged 18–25 who are at least second-generation members of the Greek diaspora. Applicants who have previously participated in Greek government hospitality programs are not eligible, and while Greek language skills are advantageous, they are not mandatory.

Applications must be submitted by 15 April 2026 through Greek consular authorities corresponding to the applicant’s place of residence. Candidates are required to provide a CV, contact details, and their preferred thematic area of participation. Geographic balance will be considered in the selection process.

The symposium promises to be a transformative experience for diaspora youth, offering them a platform to influence the direction of global Hellenism while strengthening ties with Greece. Selected participants may also be appointed as Greek Youth Diaspora Ambassadors, extending their engagement beyond the program.
