Governor Eno made the declaration during an engagement in London with World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Interim Heavyweight Champion, Moses Itauma, and Utitofon Jackson, the first African-born Mayor of Islington, United Kingdom.

The governor commended Itauma, 20, for his record-breaking feat as the youngest WBO Interim Heavyweight Champion, and praised Mayor Jackson for his leadership role in one of London’s most vibrant boroughs. He urged both men to maintain ties with their homeland and contribute actively to Akwa Ibom’s growth.

“Our diaspora community remains a critical force for sports, youth empowerment, and global partnerships. We are proud of the visibility you bring to Akwa Ibom and encourage you to channel your expertise toward our development agenda,” Eno stated.

The meeting reflects Akwa Ibom’s strategy of harnessing diaspora influence for sustainable development, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises the contributions of Nigerians abroad to national progress.

By spotlighting the achievements of Itauma and Jackson, Governor Eno reaffirmed his commitment to making diaspora excellence a cornerstone of Akwa Ibom’s growth strategy.
