Her academic journey led her to The New School, where she pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Culture and Media, graduating in May 2019. In 2017, from her dorm room, she launched her brand, initially known as "Slashed by Tia," drawing inspiration from her art history studies and a deep admiration for the Renaissance period. Her mission: to "rewrite history through fashion, particularly for people of colour."Â

Her Fall 2022 collection, for instance, was a poignant commentary on the EndSARS movement in Nigeria, featuring garments emblazoned with statements like "You were supposed to protect us," reflecting her dedication to activism through fashion.Â
