Nine were identified as principal suspects; 44 others were rescued, believed to be coerced into online fraud. Authorities seized laptops, phones and weapons. The government emphasised dismantling organised crime and warned against false job promises that lure foreigners into criminal operations.

The site, believed run by traffickers, exposed severe human rights abuses, with some detainees held up to two years. Most freed migrants are from sub-Saharan Africa and require urgent support. Authorities continue investigations to identify perpetrators. 



Nigerian Man on the Run Over Drug Case Rearrested in Thailand

Thai police rearrested Nigerian national Ukoma Jefta Nuzbech in Koh Pha Ngan after he evaded trial on drug trafficking charges. Initially arrested in March 2025 for allegedly selling cocaine, he skipped bail and reportedly continued dealing. Officers found drugs and evidence of transactions. He now faces distribution charges, potential long prison terms, and fines, with further network probes underway. 





Canadian Court Halts Deportation of Nigerian Woman Over Fears of Childlessness Stigma



A Canadian federal court temporarily blocked the deportation of Christianah Olanipekun, a Nigerian woman, after ruling immigration officials failed to consider the severe social stigma and psychological harm she could face in Nigeria due to childlessness. The court ordered a fresh review of her case, allowing her to remain in Canada while reassessed under humanitarian grounds.
