Nigerian diaspora organisations have stepped up efforts to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, launching coordinated engagements aimed at increasing voter participation ahead of the next general election.

The renewed push gained momentum during a strategic meeting of diaspora stakeholders held in the United Kingdom, where various pro-Tinubu platforms converged to align their strategies and outreach plans.


Speaking at the gathering, Bidemi-Akintunde, Director of the City Boy Movement in Diaspora, underscored the importance of youth participation in governance, noting that young Nigerians must play an active role in determining the country’s political direction.

He urged members of different support groups to prioritise unity over affiliation, stressing that collective effort among Nigerians abroad would strengthen the campaign’s impact both at home and overseas.

Attention was also drawn to the significant number of Nigerians living outside the country, estimated at about 17 million. Organisers argued that coordinated mobilisation within this demographic could translate into millions of additional votes if properly harnessed.

Participants were encouraged not only to influence voter registration and turnout from abroad but also to consider returning home during the election period to participate directly in the electoral process.
