During the visit, Dabiri-Erewa commended Anosike for his exceptional performance and for projecting a positive image of Nigeria through sports excellence on the international stage.
Anosike currently plays for the Hong Kong Bulls and has enjoyed a remarkable run in the league, establishing himself as one of its most dominant players.
He made history by becoming the first player to win the scoring title, regular season Most Valuable Player award, championship title, and Finals MVP within a two-year period.
The Nigerian star was also named a starting All-Star and recognised as the league’s top foreign player, further solidifying his reputation in Chinese basketball.
Speaking during the reception, Anosike expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and reaffirmed his commitment to using his platform to support young Nigerians and promote sports development.
He also highlighted a recent initiative involving the donation of sports shoes through a Chinese company aimed at assisting underprivileged children and encouraging grassroots talent development in Nigeria.
Anosike was accompanied by his close friend, Ibrahim Doumbia, with both athletes expressing interest in investing in Nigeria’s agriculture sector as part of their long-term development goals.
