Hon. Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), has held a strategic meeting with Dr. Hadiza Bala Usman, Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination, to strengthen collaboration and tackle key operational challenges facing the Commission.
The meeting, which took place at the Central Results Delivery Coordination Unit (CRDCU) office in Abuja, was aimed at aligning NiDCOM’s activities with the federal government’s broader objective of improving service delivery across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). Discussions centered on identifying institutional bottlenecks, enhancing efficiency, and developing practical solutions to improve NiDCOM’s engagement with Nigerians living abroad.
Dr. Bala Usman commended Hon. Dabiri-Erewa and her team for their consistent efforts in building stronger ties with the Nigerian diaspora and ensuring their contributions are directed toward national development. She praised NiDCOM’s role in promoting investment opportunities, fostering knowledge exchange, and supporting Nigerians in foreign countries.
Reiterating the federal government’s commitment to collaborative and accountable governance, Dr. Bala Usman assured that the CRDCU would provide the necessary support to help NiDCOM overcome its challenges. She emphasized that the partnership aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes results-driven policies and improved coordination across MDAs.
In her remarks, Hon. Dabiri-Erewa reaffirmed NiDCOM’s commitment to deepening diaspora engagement through strategic initiatives that encourage Nigerians abroad to contribute their expertise, resources, and networks to national growth. She expressed optimism that the collaboration with CRDCU would streamline processes, enhance policy delivery, and create measurable outcomes that benefit both the diaspora and the nation.
The meeting concluded with both agencies agreeing to establish a framework for continuous consultation, ensuring that progress on identified challenges is tracked and solutions are implemented promptly. This initiative marks another step toward building a more efficient public service that meets the expectations of Nigerians at home and abroad.
