BJP MP and former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has called on the Indian diaspora in France to champion India’s global fight against terrorism, emphasizing the need to project "Brand India" as a force for peace and resilience.

Speaking to a gathering of Indian community leaders in Paris, Prasad said the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, was a calculated attempt to destabilize peace and development in the region. He underscored India’s response Operation Sindoor as a calibrated and proportional military action targeting Pakistan-backed terror camps.

"You are the brand ambassadors of India. Please show the world that India stands for peace, but will respond firmly to terrorism," said Prasad. He stressed that in Pakistan, terrorism is state-sponsored, and any act of terror will be treated as an act of war.

Other members of the multi-party delegation echoed similar sentiments. Lok Sabha MP Daggubati Purandeswari declared that India had exercised restraint for long but was no longer willing to tolerate cross-border terrorism. Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi stated that terrorism has become an economic enterprise in Pakistan, threatening global peace.

Kashmiri MP Ghulam Ali Khatana pointed to the revival of tourism in Jammu and Kashmir and condemned attempts to derail progress through violence. Congress MP Dr Amar Singh and Rajya Sabha MP Samik Bhattacharya both emphasized the unified political front being presented, while AIADMK’s M Thambidurai and M J Akbar highlighted the international need to recognize Pakistan’s use of terrorism as official policy.

Members of the Indian community, including tech entrepreneurs and restaurateurs, expressed strong support for India's anti-terror campaign. They shared details of a protest organized at the Eiffel Tower after the Pahalgam attack, which killed 26 people.

The Paris stop is part of a global outreach initiative by one of 33 Indian all-party delegations aiming to garner international backing against terrorism. The delegation is scheduled to meet French lawmakers before heading to Italy, Denmark, the UK, Belgium, and Germany in the coming days.
