The Idoma Association USA has strongly condemned the escalating violence in Benue South, particularly in Otukpo, where multiple attacks have left several people dead and many abducted. The group criticized the perceived inaction of both the state government and security agencies in addressing the crisis.

Reports indicate that within the last four days, the Olena and Asa communities in Otukpo have been targeted by armed assailants, resulting in tragic losses. Residents remain in fear as the attacks persist without significant intervention from authorities.

Expressing deep concern, the association faulted Governor Hyacinth Alia and Deputy Governor Sam Odeh for their silence amid the worsening security situation. They called on the Benue State Government and federal security agencies to take immediate steps to protect the people and restore peace to the affected communities.

"Our people are being slaughtered, and yet those in power continue to watch without taking urgent action. This is unacceptable," the association stated, urging swift military and police deployment to the region.

The association further appealed to the international community and human rights organizations to pay attention to the ongoing crisis and pressure the government to act decisively.

Meanwhile, local leaders and affected families continue to seek support as they deal with the aftermath of the attacks. Many displaced residents are calling for emergency relief and security reinforcements to prevent further violence.

As tensions rise, all eyes remain on the Benue State Government and its next course of action in addressing the deteriorating security situation in the region
