•Eid-ul-Maulid Announcement
The federal government has officially declared Wednesday, September 27, 2023, as a public holiday in honor of this year's Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration, which marks the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, conveyed this announcement on behalf of the federal government. He extended his congratulations to Muslims, both within the country and abroad, for being part of this significant occasion.

Permanent Secretary, Dr. Oluwatoyin Akinlade, on Monday, Tunji-Ojo urged all Nigerians, especially the youth, to embrace the values of love, patience, tolerance, and perseverance, which are profound spiritual virtues exemplified by Prophet Muhammad (SAW). He emphasized that adopting these virtues would contribute to peace, security, and harmony in the nation.
The Minister also encouraged Nigerians to uphold the principles of hard work and peaceful coexistence with fellow citizens, regardless of differences in faith, ideology, social status, or ethnicity. Furthermore, he urged everyone to unite with the administration led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in its mission to construct a progressive and admirable nation that all citizens can take pride in.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo extended his warm wishes to all Muslim faithful for a joyful celebration.
