•It claimed the title of the tallest building in West Africa.
NECOM House, formerly known as NITEL Tower and originally the NET Building, is a distinctive 32-story skyscraper situated in Lagos. This architectural marvel was finalized in 1979 and served as the headquarters of NITEL.
As one of the city's most recognizable landmarks, it was once the central hub for the Nigerian Telecommunications Limited (NITEL). Noteworthy for its unique cylindrical design, the tower ranked among Nigeria's tallest buildings at its inauguration.
The tower's communications spire atop functions as a guiding beacon for Lagos Harbour, and the structure is predominantly constructed from concrete. In its heyday, it claimed the title of the tallest building in West Africa.
Over the years, NECOM House has adapted to diverse uses, including office spaces and telecommunication infrastructure.
