•According to NiMet, the dust haze from nearby countries has led to reduced visibility.
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a warning regarding deteriorating visibility in several northern states.
Dust haze originating from source regions, including Chad and Niger, has led to reduced horizontal visibility.
NiMet's General Manager of Public Affairs, Mr. Muntari Ibrahim, stated that areas such as Katsina, Kano, Nguru, Jigawa, Potiskum, and Maiduguri are expected to experience moderate to poor visibility in the next 24 hours.
NiMet urges the public to take necessary precautions, especially individuals with respiratory conditions, and advises airline operators to stay informed through NiMet's weather reports for operational planning. The agency will continue to provide updates on the weather situation.
