When given to slaves, this water is believed to make them forget their roots, identity, and family, with their slave master's surname becoming their new identity. Research has shown that the water takes effect after three months of consumption.

5. The Badagry Heritage Museum
The Badagry Museum contains many historical and cultural relics and artifacts related to the slave trade. The museum exhibits items like cages, shackles, and chains used on captured slaves. This museum provides insight into the pains and struggles of slaves in the 16th century before the practice of the slave trade was abolished in 1880.
