President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, during a meeting in Lagos this afternoon, declared that he had forgiven Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, marking an end to what appeared to be a period of presidential displeasure.
The meeting was attended by members of the Lagos State Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), who intervened to seek the president’s forgiveness on behalf of the governor and other individuals perceived to have fallen out of favour.
While welcoming the president to Lagos, the Chairman of the GAC, Alhaji Tajudeen Olusi, openly acknowledged that Tinubu had shown signs of dissatisfaction with certain individuals in the state, particularly Governor Sanwo-Olu. He appealed for clemency and reconciliation.

In response, President Tinubu said:
“It’s all over now. All is forgiven,”
reassuring the gathering that he no longer held any grievances, including those directed at the governor.
In a gesture of humility and cultural respect, Governor Sanwo-Olu and members of the council reportedly prostrated before the president a traditional Yoruba act signifying deep remorse and submission.
Notably, the meeting did not involve any attempt to recount or analyse the cause of the disagreement. Instead, the council focused entirely on appealing for mercy, which the president granted without requiring explanations.
