
President Joseph Aoun met with Lebanon’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Fouad Dandan, at the Baabda Presidential Palace to deliberate on key issues concerning the Lebanese diaspora in the UAE and to explore ways of enhancing diplomatic and economic relations between both countries.
During the meeting, President Aoun expressed deep appreciation for the strong ties that bind Lebanon and the UAE, emphasizing the vital role played by the Lebanese community in the Emirates. He commended the diaspora for its resilience, contributions to the UAE’s development, and continued support for Lebanon.
Ambassador Dandan provided insights into the status and concerns of the Lebanese community in the UAE, highlighting the challenges they face and the opportunities available for further collaboration between both nations. He also reaffirmed the UAE’s ongoing support for the Lebanese people and its interest in maintaining a solid and constructive bilateral relationship.

In response, President Aoun assured the ambassador that Lebanon remains committed to ensuring internal stability and enforcing the rule of law. He emphasized that maintaining peace and security is not only essential for the wellbeing of its citizens but also instrumental in encouraging members of the Lebanese diaspora and Emirati investors and tourists , to reconnect with Lebanon as a second home.
The President reiterated that Lebanon is keen on building stronger economic, cultural, and diplomatic bridges with the UAE, and sees the diaspora as a key pillar in that vision. He stressed the importance of mobilizing efforts to create a secure and stable environment that fosters investment, encourages tourism, and deepens mutual cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting comes at a time when Lebanon is seeking to revitalize its ties with international partners and leverage its global diaspora network as part of broader efforts to stimulate economic recovery and national development.
