The Minister of Tourism, Lola Ade-John, is currently under investigation by the State Criminal Investigation Department of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command following alleged poisoning.
She has been hospitalized for over a week in Abuja. According to Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Command Public Relations Officer, the General Investigation Department of the State CID is handling the case, and further details will be provided to the public soon.
Ade-John, aged 60, was appointed as a minister by President Bola Tinubu in August and is recognized as one of the few cabinet members chosen from outside the political sphere. She was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Jabi, after exhibiting poisoning symptoms.
While the exact substance and source of poisoning remain unknown, she is receiving medical assistance, including a breathing machine. Attempts to contact officials at the FMC were unsuccessful as they did not respond to calls or messages from reporters.
