Onuesoke Urges Diaspora Deltans to Invest in State’s Development

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Sunny Onuesoke, has called on Delta State indigenes residing outside the state and abroad to direct their resources towards fostering economic growth and development in Delta State.

In a New Year message delivered while hosting supporters and well-wishers in Warri, Delta State, during the yuletide celebrations, Onuesoke highlighted the untapped opportunities in sectors such as maritime, agriculture, and oil and gas. He emphasized that these sectors are ripe for investment, offering significant economic returns to those willing to explore them.

"It is time for Deltans in the Diaspora to look homeward and contribute to the development of our abundant resources," Onuesoke said. "The state is endowed with vast potential, and our professionals abroad can play a pivotal role in unlocking these opportunities."

He particularly underscored the potential of the palm oil sub-sector, describing it as a lucrative industry with broader market prospects, greater economic value, and higher profitability compared to crude oil. He urged investors to tap into this area, noting its capacity to drive substantial economic growth.

Onuesoke further remarked that investments from Deltans in the Diaspora would attract international investors, creating a ripple effect of development. He stressed that Delta State boasts an array of professionals across various fields who can significantly contribute to the state’s progress.

Highlighting critical areas for investment, Onuesoke mentioned agriculture, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), health, water resources, education, and engineering. He appealed to Deltans visiting home for the holidays to consider investing in these sectors.

"Our state will benefit through job creation, wealth generation, and skill development," he said. "Our youths, in particular, will gain employment opportunities and training, which will help curb insecurity in the state."

He also lauded Delta State as a secure and hospitable environment for professionals and entrepreneurs to thrive. "Delta State offers an unparalleled investment climate, combining opportunities with a welcoming atmosphere. Let’s channel our investments back home and be part of the change. We have no other state to call our own," he urged.

Onuesoke’s message is a clarion call to Deltans in the Diaspora to unite their efforts toward building a prosperous Delta State for all.
