The 12th edition of the Nigerian Diaspora Direct Investment Summit (NDDIS) was held in London on April 6, 2025, creating a vibrant platform for collaboration, investment, and national development.
Hosted at the Copthorne Tara Hotel, Kensington, the summit attracted key government officials and entrepreneurs focused on driving economic growth in Nigeria through diaspora engagement. Since its inception in 2013 by Bimbo Afolayan, NDDIS has become a bridge connecting Nigerians abroad with credible opportunities back home, supported by the Office of the Vice President and the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM).
This year’s theme, Nigerian Diaspora MSMEs and Job Creation Roadshow and Investment Summit, spotlighted the role of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises in creating jobs and building sustainable partnerships.

NiDCOM Chairman, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, in her keynote, urged Nigerians in the diaspora to invest, mentor, and transfer knowledge to support national growth. “Yes, there are challenges, but we must ask ourselves what role we’re playing in solving them,” she said.
A major highlight was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Bauchi State and NDDIS, unveiling six strategic projects across education, healthcare, agriculture, and economic empowerment. Katsina State also indicated interest in future collaborations.
Notable attendees included Temitola Adekunle-Johnson, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Job Creation, and Aminu Hammayo representing Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed.
