Professor Jude Osakwe, Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation (NIDO) Africa, has urged Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State to reinstate Ambassador Dr. Favour Obakoro as Senior Special Assistant on Morals and Diaspora Affairs, following new developments in her case.

Dr. Obakoro also known as Vida Modelo, previously removed from her position after being accused of using her office to scam individuals, promising to provide work permits outside Nigeria in exchange for large sums of money totalling over 100 million Naira.

By social media critic Verydarkman, who exposed the allegations in a video that drew public attention , has now been exonerated by a recent investigation conducted by Turkish firm ERN. The report, submitted to appropriate authorities, found no wrongdoing on her part.

In a statement released in Asaba, Osakwe emphasized the importance of fairness and accountability in public office. He argued that with the cloud of suspicion now cleared, it is only just to restore Dr. Obakoro to her former role.

“This situation should be a test of our commitment to due process,” he said. “We cannot afford to sideline individuals who have been cleared, especially when they have served with integrity.”

Osakwe also called on law enforcement and anti-corruption agencies to thoroughly examine all related documents to reinforce public trust in institutional processes.

Praising Dr. Obakoro’s service and influence in both the Delta State government and the diaspora community, Osakwe described her as a vital asset in promoting ethical leadership and global partnerships.

He concluded by expressing confidence that Governor Oborevwori, known for his fairness, would take appropriate action guided by the latest findings.
